Be cautious: scammers are disguising themselves as the "School Starter Kit" initiative

16/07/2025

Attention parents of future first-graders!

A new fraudulent scheme is spreading online under the guise of the "School Starter Kit" assistance program: criminals are sending messages about supposedly starting payments and collecting parents' banking details.

We officially inform you: the initiative is currently still being tested, with final adjustments underway to ensure the program launches as effectively and efficiently as possible. We will announce the program's launch as soon as everything is ready (don’t worry — it will happen in time for everyone to prepare for school). At that time, we will also share detailed instructions on how to use the "School Starter Kit." For now, we can confirm: parents who have registered their child for first grade at a Ukrainian school and are users of the Diia app will receive a corresponding notification once the initiative launches.

Therefore, we urge parents and guardians of this year’s first-graders not to click on suspicious links or provide their personal data.

Stay updated with current and, most importantly, reliable news about the initiative — the Ministry of Social Policy, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the Pension Fund of Ukraine, will promptly inform you about the program’s key details.
