NBU Opens Fundraising Account for Humanitarian Assistance to Ukrainians Affected by Russia’s Aggression

The NBU has opened a current account for the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine for humanitarian purposes.

The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine account was opened at the National Bank of Ukraine, with the aim to accumulate help to renovate Ukraine. It will be used to collect charity, humanitarian help, grants and gifts from individuals and legal entities from Ukraine as well as from abroad.

“We’re calling on the world community to support Ukrainians and donate money into humanitarian account to help vulnerable groups of population. It's important that the single, verified by the state account, guarantee addressability of help and control by donors over every hryvnia” – said Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Oksana Zholnovych.

The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine will distribute the collected funds on following directions:

* payment of rehabilitation aids, including the manufacture and/or installation of prosthetic and orthopedic products of increased complexity and functionality using the latest technologies and components of such products

* development of family forms of education, including for children deprived of parental care as a result of Russian aggression, by providing housing for family-type children's homes, foster families, families of foster parents

* payment for the provision and compensation of the following social services:

inpatient, daycare and social adaptation for the elderly and adults with disabilities among internally displaced persons in specialized enterprises;
creating an alternative to geriatric houses;
supported housing for persons with disabilities, including those with mental disorders;
care and parenting in conditions close to family (small group homes), including children with disabilities;
temporary vacation for persons caring for children/persons with disabilities;
social support of family forms of parenting orphans and children deprived of parental care and inclusive education;
emergency (crisis) intervention;
social rehabilitation and granting of asylum

* providing communal institutions with compensation for expenses on basic and additional wages and other compensation payments to social work specialists
