Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, Denys Uliutin, and the leader of the "Shelter Yours" charitable foundation signed a Memorandum of cooperation. The primary objective is to support people forced to leave their homes by helping them integrate into new communities and find employment.
"Supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs) is the priority for the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine. We not only implement the programs designed to help internally displaced persons (IDPs) who face difficult life circumstances, but we are also ready to support the initiatives that assist those who were forced to abandon their usual ways of life and lose their jobs," noted Denys Uliutin.
The parties will focus their efforts on helping internally displaced persons (IDPs) with finding work, career counselling, professional training, legal assistance and resolving housing issues.
"We have ambitious plans – to join forces with business, local and state governments to support internally displaced persons (IDPs). We are confident that this cooperation will bring tangible and effective results," said Halyna Yanchenko, the founder of the "Shelter" initiative, People’s Deputy of Ukraine.
It is expected that the "Shelter. Work" project will become the largest platform in Ukraine, where employers from all over the country and local government bodies will publish job and housing vacancies. The project will help internally displaced persons (IDPs) find work and housing simultaneously, integrate into the community, and feel like a part of society.
