Today, November 26, the Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine Tetiana Kiriienko held a working meeting with Christian Tabacaru, Director of the Lending and Social Development Department at the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB).
The meeting focused on discussing the expansion of joint projects with the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine in the field of social protection.
Tetiana Kiriienko expressed her gratitude to the partners for the disbursement of the second tranche of EUR 100 million under the “Support to Internally Displaced Persons in Ukraine” project. The total value of the project's funds of EUR 200 million enable the Government to strengthen support for internally displaced persons (IPDs) and help them gradually integrate into the new communities.
“The Ministry and the state are currently facing a crucial task — to support communities hosting internally displaced persons. In many regions, local services are under increased pressure, so it is essential to develop long-term and flexible support mechanisms. These mechanisms provided by the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) make it possible,” she noted.
The parties agreed to establish new joint projects based on the priority needs of the communities.
