Inna Solodka Joins Nationwide Meeting of the Community of Ambassadors for Barrier-Free Accessibility

07/10/2025

A nationwide Meeting of the Community of Ambassadors for Barrier-Free Accessibility was held as part of the social change campaign “Barrier-Free Means When You Can,” initiated by Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska. Inna Solodka, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, participated in the event.

Over 70 ambassadors from across the country — representatives of communities, businesses, government institutions, and the civil society sector — joined the initiative to promote the principles of barrier-free accessibility and inclusion in their communities and fields of activity.

First Lady Olena Zelenska emphasized:

“When we first started talking about barrier-free accessibility, most people thought it was only about infrastructure or ramps. But there are also invisible barriers — in work, education, and opportunities. Today, 87% of Ukrainians already consider barrier-free accessibility as a new social value. And that means change has begun.”

For the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, barrier-free access is not just a project but a core value that permeates all areas of its work. This includes:

  • developing modern social services;
  • ensuring access to state services for people with disabilities, veterans, families with children, and everyone who needs support;
  • creating conditions for equal opportunities for every individual.

In collaboration with partners such as the “Barrier-Free” platform, UNICEF Ukraine, and other organizations, the Ministry is working to make Ukraine more comfortable, accessible, and inclusive for everyone.
