50 representatives from regional and Kyiv City social service centers across 25 regions of Ukraine joined the training program at the Supported Living School. After acquiring the necessary knowledge, these specialists will provide training in their respective regions for members of multidisciplinary teams and social managers through tailored programs for each category.
The training is divided into 5 stages and will last two months.
Future trainers will:
- Master theoretical knowledge on training methodology and principles of developing effective training programs to build core professional skills for social service trainers.
- Develop practical coaching skills to prepare specialists of multidisciplinary teams in providing supported living services.
- Undergo evaluation and certification of their training competencies.
- Complete a final assessment.
Participants will gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to implement, organize, and develop comprehensive supported living social services.
The initial course will be led by experts including a specialist in social policy, deinstitutionalization, and inclusion; an expert in psychological correction; a specialist in organizing social services for persons with disabilities; an adult education expert.
The School was organized by the Ministry of Social Policy in partnership with the NGO "Social Synergy" as part of the flagship partnership between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine and the European Union under the "EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine" initiative.
It is worth noting that Dnipropetrovsk region was the first in Ukraine to launch the "Supported Living School" for social managers and specialists organizing services for elderly individuals and persons with disabilities. The region serves as a flagship in training, having identified the implementation of this service as a priority and planning to allocate all available resources for its development.
