Another safe space for psychosocial support has opened in the capital. The Resilience Centre, established by the Markivka Settlement Military Administration, which operates for forcibly displaced people from Luhansk Oblast. The space also open to local residents — anyone in welcome to seekhelp here. The Centre is located in Kyiv, at 1 Berlynskoho Street.
The space was created to help people who lost their homes due to the war to recover — psychologically, socially, and emotionally. The Center offers individual counseling, group sessions, workshops, andevents that help foster new connections and support social adaptation.
The initiative was implemented in partnership with the charity fund "Caritas-Kyiv."
"This Resilience Center is an example of how the state and its partners can support not only individuals, but also entire communities forced to leave their homes. Those adapting to a new environment can access psychological support here, regain their strength, and reconnect with others. Relocated communities, through such spaces, can maintain cohesion and support their people, even while far from their homesthey can’t yet return to," noted Oksana Zholnovych, Ukraine’s Minister of Social Policy.
Caritas teams are active in 55 Resilience Centres across Ukraine, providing daily support to people who have lost their homes, communities, and familiar way of life.
"When war takes away a home, we create a home of hope. The Resilience Centre is a place where everyone can find understanding, support, and the strength to move forward. It is especially meaningful that this one hasopened for a community that can no longer live on its own – yet has preserved its dignity, faith, and commitment to building a future," emphasized Father Roman Syrotych, Director of the NGO "Charity Fund ”Caritas-Kyiv“
All services at the Centre are provided free of charge andare available to people of all ages — children, youth, adults, and the elderly. The goal is not only to help individuals cope with trauma, but also to support integration into a new environment.
The project of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine is part of the nationwide mental health programme "How Are You?" , initiated by First Lady Olena Zelenska.
