Since the beginning of 2025, 80 victims of human trafficking have received financial assistance totaling about 700 thousand hryvnias

Today, July 30, marks the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, established by the UN General Assembly. The Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine reminds that anyone can fall victim to this crime, regardless of age, social status, or education level.
Since the start of 2025, the status of a victim of human trafficking has been granted to 112 individuals in Ukraine. According to registered statistics, most of them suffered from mixed forms of human trafficking, 13 from labor exploitation, and 4 from sexual exploitation.
Eighty individuals applied for financial assistance, receiving a total of 699 thousand hryvnias. Among them were 20 women, 57 men, and three girls.
Signs of human trafficking:
- Your passport or other documents were taken away;
- You were deprived of freedom of movement and communication with relatives;
- You were promised well-paid work (abroad or in Ukraine) but never received the promised payment;
- You were threatened, beaten, raped, abused, or subjected to psychological pressure;
- Through physical or psychological violence, you were forced to perform work you did not want to do;
- You were forced to work off fabricated debts;
- Your labor was used without full or partial payment of the promised wages;
- You were unable to leave the job at will;
- You were forced to work overtime under conditions significantly worse than promised;
- You were forced to beg or engage in criminal activity.
It is important to know what to do if you or your loved ones are in danger.
First and foremost, contact the government hotline for combating human trafficking, preventing and countering domestic violence, gender-based violence, and violence against children at 15-47.
