Development of assistance network for violence survivors: 94 communities receive vehicles for mobile teams

28/07/2025

Through state budget subventions to local budgets, 94 communities have purchased vehicles to support mobile teams assisting survivors of domestic violence. Currently, the selected communities have acquired vehicles: 89 are already registered and operational, while 5 are undergoing registration procedures.

All vehicles, in accordance with subvention requirements, are equipped to serve people with disabilities and those with limited mobility.

Some regions already demonstrate successful implementation of the upgraded vehicle fleet. For example, in Mykolaiv Oblast, twelve communities have enhanced accessibility and social service availability through state support.

Additionally, four more communities used subvention funds to renovate and reconstruct specialized support services for violence survivors. Currently, two facilities are nearly 95% complete, while two others - a primary psychosocial counseling service in Kyiv and a day center in Kelmentsi community, Chernivtsi Oblast - have been fully renovated.

Recall that in 2024, local budgets received a 200 million hryvnia subvention to establish a network of specialized services providing assistance and psychosocial support to survivors of domestic or gender-based violence. These funds were allocated to complete renovations of specialized support services for domestic violence survivors and purchase vehicles for mobile domestic violence response teams.

Notably, the Subvention Distribution Procedure aligns with the principles of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine, an initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska.
