06/05/2026
On the sidelines of the Second International Migration Review Forum (IMRF), Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, Denys Uliutin held a meeting with Minister for Migration of Sweden, Johan Forssell.
The discussion focused on further cooperation in supporting Ukrainians in Sweden, including preparations for the opening of Unity Hub Stockholm, which is scheduled to launch in June this year.
“We see the Unity Hub in Stockholm as a practical tool that will help Ukrainians receive clear information about their status and opportunities in Sweden. It will also help them stay in touch with Ukrainian services, access information about return – without pressure, but based on facts – and see real opportunities in Ukraine, including jobs, communities, and programmes,” Denys Uliutin said.
Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the future status of Ukrainians in Sweden in the context of the possible end of temporary protection in March 2027. The Minister stressed the importance of a common position and a balanced approach to relevant decisions, taking into account the security situation in Ukraine.
The parties also discussed approaches to the reintegration of Ukrainians after their return. The Minister emphasized that the key factor is the communities' capacity to provide access to housing, employment, and basic services. According to him, Ukraine is already preparing shared tools within the policy framework for internally displaced persons.
In addition, Denys Uliutin informed the Swedish side that the Ministry is currently developing digital services that will allow Ukrainians to plan their return. He added that the initial presentation of the Digital Tool for Returnees is scheduled to take place at the upcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026), which will be held in Gdańsk on 25–26 June.
