The State Will Allocate UAH 8 Billion for the Provision of Prosthetics and Assistive Rehabilitation Devices in 2026 – Denis Uliutin
27/09/2025
Today, on September 27, Denys Uliutin, the Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine stated this at the opening of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Laboratory in Kharkiv.
The Center was established at the University Hospital of Kharkiv National Medical University with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross. For the first time, the full range of services provided at the state hospital will be available here: from the production of prostheses and orthoses to their adjustment and ongoing maintenance.
A Master's program in Prosthetics and Orthotics has been launched at the institution to prepare future specialists and to provide advanced training for doctors and technicians.
“In 2026, the state will allocate UAH 8 billion for the provision of prosthetics and assistive rehabilitation devices. We want to create conditions so that the state program is used in the places where it is most needed,” said Denys Uliutin.
He emphasized that the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine is building a support system for individuals that functions as a single pathway – from injury to recovery. Prosthetics, psychological support, and social services are a part of one integrated process.
“The Kharkiv region is demonstrating an example of building such a system, and I am grateful to everyone who has brought this project to life,” said Denys Uliutin.
It should be noted that on September 23, at the initiative of the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, and with the participation of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the first meeting of the Interagency Working Group on the reform of the prosthetics sector took place.
