Supporting Return and Reintegration: "Dodomu" Digital Platform for Ukrainians Abroad Launches in Pilot Mode

26/06/2026

The "Dodomu" digital platform, developed for Ukrainians abroad who are considering returning to Ukraine, has officially launched in pilot mode. The announcement was made by Ilona Havronska, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine for European Integration, on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026) in Gdańsk.

The platform is designed to provide Ukrainians abroad with reliable, up-to-date information to help them prepare for a possible return to Ukraine and make informed decisions about their future. It enables users to create a personalised return plan while bringing together practical information on communities, employment, education, public services, social support, and other opportunities available across Ukraine.

In addition, the platform provides information about support services available abroad, including Unity Hubs and organisations within the Unity Network, where Ukrainians can receive guidance and assistance as they consider returning.

"We understand that the decision to return is always a deeply personal and sometimes difficult choice, which depends on many factors, security first and foremost. At the same time, we can help in making this decision by providing reliable information, so that every Ukrainian can have a clearer understanding of the path they need to take and the opportunities, services and support available in Ukraine," said Ilona Havronska.

A dedicated section of the platform features profiles of Ukrainian communities (hromadas) that are ready to welcome and support returnees during their reintegration. Users can access information on local services, infrastructure, employment opportunities, education, and key contacts. This section is being developed in partnership with the Association of Ukrainian Cities, and more than 100 hromadas have already joined the platform.

“The Dodomu digital platform demonstrates how European partnership can transform public policy into practical solutions for people. This digital one-stop-shop creates a transnational bridge that helps Ukrainians abroad stay connected with Ukraine, access reliable information, and make informed decisions about their future”, said Hanna Nickel, Director of the project "YOUA — Shaping New Pathways, Building Ukraine's Future."

The platform is currently available in pilot mode at https://dodomu.unity.gov.ua/.

The "Dodomu" platform was developed within the framework of the YOUA – "Shaping New Pathways, Building Ukraine's Future" project, implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Government of Germany, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine. The platform was technically developed by the NGO Technologies of Progress (TOP).
