Is the compensation received instead of the "Baby Package" included in the family's total income?
24/06/2025
Dear readers, for many who receive social benefits from the state, the amount of the family's total income is crucial, as it matters, for example, when assigning and calculating housing subsidies, rental subsidies for IDPs, or other types of assistance.
We received a question from expectant parents: Is the compensation they want to receive instead of the "Baby Package" included in the family's total income?
Here’s the explanation!
The "Baby Package" is a one-time state benefit for families who have recently had a child. In 2025, parents of newborns can receive either the in-kind "Baby Package" or monetary compensation in the amount of 7,689 UAH (three subsistence minimums for children under 6 years old).
This assistance is NOT included in the family’s average monthly total income and, accordingly, will not affect the eligibility for other payments.
