Subordinated Entities

According to item 111 of point 4 of the Regulation on the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 423 of 17.06.2015 (as amended), the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine manages stated-owned facilities within its competence. They include state-owned enterprises, rehabilitation institutions and non-commercial enterprises that perform important social functions for the Ukrainian citizens.

Main Areas of Activities of Rehabilitation Centres

  • Rehabilitation institutions of the Ministry of Social Policy offer comprehensive support and assistance to the people in need of recovery of their health and social skills and adaptation to full-scale social life. Rehabilitation centres are focused on physical, psychological and social recovery, especially for persons with disabilities. The principal objectives of rehabilitation centres include:
  • Physical recovery and health improvement: Procedures aimed at improving the physical condition, restoring mobility and supporting bodily functions.
  • Psychological support and correction: Providing psychotherapeutic assistance, assistance in dealing with stress, psychological traumas, and developing emotional stability.
  • Social adaptation and training of self-care skills: Mastering skills of living on your own, developing social activities, or integrating into the society. It can include training in skills of safe conduct, household skills as well as protection of own rights.
  • Early childhood intervention and development of children: Rehabilitation centres help children with disabilities or children from the risk group develop cognitive and physical abilities, ensure support for comprehensive development and training, which facilitates their future social and professional formation.
  • Supporting families and developing parenting skills: Rehabilitation centres can also provide services to families with children with disabilities by helping parents understand the child’s needs, enhance their knowledge and skills to support the child’s development.
