DIiMO
DIiMO Children and Youth Office is a counselling and advisory body at the Ministry of Social Policy. It is made of the participants aged 14 to 35, including those who have lived in institutional care facilities, family-type children’s homes, foster families, patronage families and adoptive families.
DIiMO is the platform for dialogue of children, the youth and state makers. The team broadcasts the ideas and initiatives that facilitate formation of the children’s and youth policy of the state with due consideration of the best interests of children.
The main focus of the Office’s activities is reformation of the child care and upbringing and family support system so that every Ukrainian child grows up in a family environment and has a significant adult by their side.
Main areas of activity by DIiMO:
- Advocacy and promotion of the best interests of the child.
- Developing of mentoring for children and the youth.
- Formation of the capacity of children and the youth.
Intentions of DIiMO:
- To be the children’s voice for the state and the society.
- To participate in formation and implementation of the child and youth policy.
- To establish the community around children’s interests and to develop the mentoring culture in Ukraine.
