During an official working visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, Denys Uliutin, Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, and Lyudmyla Shemelynets, First Deputy Minister, discussed prospects for cooperation on rebuilding Ukraine’s social sector with Swedish investor Carl Bennet.

“We are at a stage where the reconstruction of the social sector determines the future resilience of our country. Engaging Swedish businesses in these processes opens broader opportunities for long-term partnership between our countries,” said Denys Uliutin.

The Minister emphasized that Ukraine is already working on enhancing a comprehensive prosthetics system, focused on timely, accessible, and adequate service provision and support at every stage — both before and after rehabilitation. At the same time, the Ministry of Social Policy is reforming the social benefits system for persons with disabilities in line with the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and developing tools to support employment and independent living for every individual who undergoes prosthetic rehabilitation.

Carl Bennet shared his experience in supporting educational projects and social initiatives in Sweden, highlighting the importance of international knowledge exchange for societal development. The meeting was part of a broader program of cooperation between Ukraine and Sweden in the areas of social policy, family support, children, and older adults.
